The Gallery

After more than 11 years in business at the Manoir Richelieu, husband-and-wife gallery owners Jacques Tremblay and Rosanne Duchesne began a new chapter with the opening of their very own brand new P'tit Bonheur. Two years of labour and love transformed an old home in Pointe-au-Pic into an impressive art gallery.

First opened in 1993, La galerie d'art Au P'tit Bonheur is both spacious and intimate. From the moment they walk in the front door, visitors feel right at home. The house is inviting for both patrons and the thirty or so well-known artists whose work is on permanent display. In the small first-floor rooms and the expansive upstairs rooms, trimmed with decorative mouldings and furnished with antiques, art lovers can discover the artwork in refined, restful surroundings.

The forward-looking gallery owners have raised the bar by deciding to acquire every piece they exhibit. This kind of confidence pays dividends; the gallery is able to exhibit collections reminiscent of featured openings year round. Painters and sculptors enjoy an elite venue that inspires them to give the best of themselves. The owners are constantly innovating by coordinating a number of original projects, such as tours and books, that reflect the personality of each artist. Their long-term vision is supported by a committed team that includes the owners' eldest daughter, Marie-Eve, who has been active in the business for many years.

Boldness and creativity, combined with the outstanding cooperation of the artists, make Au P'tit Bonheur a gem in the Canadian art world, a cultural destination for art lovers in search of excellence.

"In the heart of every great merchant is a gifted artist." D.-H. Kahnweiler
