Gallery canvas
A gallery canvas work is a canvas mounted on a thicker faux frame to give it relief. Typically, the gallery canvas is stretched around a wooden frame about one and three-quarter (1 ¾) inches thick and attached to the back. The staples, grommets and cable are not visible once the work is hung, and the sides of the canvas are usually painted - black or a shade of the design - allowing the work to be enjoyed with or without a frame.
